Linktree is a free link page that can also sell; Stan Store is a paid storefront that lives in your bio. If you mostly share links, Linktree's free plan is enough. If you sell digital products, courses or calls every month, Stan usually works out cheaper once sales pass about $156 to $242 a month, because it takes 0% where Linktree takes 9% to 12%.
That range is the whole decision for most people, so this post shows where it comes from. Figures are from Linktree's pricing page and Stan's fee article (updated 23 September 2026) and pricing post, read on 17 October 2026. Prices are US list prices; both vary by region. I make Posy, a third option that comes up near the end, so read that part knowing that.
#What each one is
Linktree is the original link in bio: one page at linktr.ee/yourname with your photo, a bio and your links. Selling was added on top: digital products, courses, affiliate links and an Instagram auto-reply on the top plan. It has a free plan and apps for iOS and Android.
Stan Store is a storefront first. It is built to sell digital downloads, courses, coaching calls, memberships and bookings from your bio link, with checkout on the page. Stan's own comparison puts it plainly: Stan is for selling, Linktree is for branding and organising links. It has no free plan, only a 14-day trial.
#Price and fees side by side (October 2026)
| Linktree | Stan Store | |
|---|---|---|
| Free plan | Yes, unlimited links | No, 14-day free trial |
| Plans, billed monthly (US) | Starter $8, Pro $15, Premium $35 | Creator $29, Creator Pro $99 |
| Plans, billed yearly (US) | $6, $12, $30 a month | $300 a year, $948 a year |
| Platform fee on digital products and courses | 12% Free, 9% Starter, 9% Pro, 0% Premium | 0% on both plans |
| Payment processing | Extra; plus USD $0.25 per payout | Extra; Stripe or PayPal fees, e.g. 2.9% + $0.30 per US card sale |
| Remove the platform's branding | Pro and up | Not listed on Stan's plan pages |
| Custom domain | Not offered | Not listed on Stan's plan pages |
One oddity on Linktree's page: the Pro plan card says "Sell and earn with 0% fees", while the comparison table on the same page lists 9% on Pro for digital products and courses. I have used the table. Check at checkout before you rely on either.
#The break-even point
Stan charges a flat subscription and no cut. Linktree is cheap or free up front and takes a cut of each sale. So there is a monthly sales figure where they cost the same. Using monthly billing and ignoring processing fees, which both charge:
| Linktree plan | Linktree cost on sales of S | Same cost as Stan Creator ($29) at |
|---|---|---|
| Free | 12% of S | about $242 a month in sales |
| Starter ($8) | $8 + 9% of S | about $233 a month |
| Pro ($15) | $15 + 9% of S | about $156 a month |
| Premium ($35) | $35, 0% | never: Stan is $6 a month cheaper at any volume |
Below those figures, Linktree is cheaper. Above them, Stan is, and the gap grows with every sale. On $1,000 of monthly sales, Linktree Free keeps $120 and Stan Creator costs $29.
If you pay yearly, the numbers move: Stan Creator works out to $25 a month and Linktree Pro to $12 plus 9%, which meet at about $144 a month in sales.
#What you get for selling
Stan Creator ($29) covers the storefront, digital products, courses, coaching and bookings, and memberships, with checkout on your page. Creator Pro ($99) adds the selling extras: discount codes, limited-quantity offers, payment plans including Afterpay and Klarna, pixel tracking and unlimited emails, per Stan's help center.
Linktree lets you sell digital products and courses on every plan, at the fees above. Its paid plans add more as you go up: Pro adds branding removal, custom designs and mailing list integrations; Premium adds link rules and routing, data export, social media scheduling and unlimited Instagram auto-replies.
If selling is the job, Stan's whole product is built around it, and Linktree's selling is one feature among many. If links are the job, Linktree does more of that, for free.
#Design and the page itself
Both pages are templates you fill in. Linktree has a theme picker, with some themes and custom image backgrounds on Pro and Premium (see Linktree themes). Stan's page is laid out as a storefront around your products. Neither is about looking unusual. People who switch away from either usually do it because the page looks like everyone else's.

#Who should pick which
- You do not sell anything yet: Linktree Free. There is no reason to pay $29 a month before you have a product.
- You sell now and then, under about $150 a month: Linktree on the plan you already have, or Free.
- You sell every week, courses, templates or calls: Stan Creator. The 0% fee pays for the subscription quickly.
- You need payment plans, upsells or email flows: Stan Creator Pro, or compare with Beacons, which also has a store and email; see Linktree vs Beacons.
- You want a custom domain: neither lists one. That alone points you elsewhere.
#A third option, if you mostly share
If you came to this comparison because you want a better-looking page, not a store, Posy is built for that. Each page is drawn as a scene, like polaroids on a desk or a two-ink print, and your links become the things in it. Free has unlimited links and three looks; Pro is $5 a month and adds your own domain. Posy has no checkout, so if you sell, the usual setup is a Posy page with your Stan store or shop as the first, largest tile. More in Posy vs Stan.

#Where Posy is not the right pick
- You sell from your bio and want checkout on the page. Posy cannot take payments. Stan or Linktree can.
- You want email capture or an Instagram auto-reply. Posy has neither. Linktree has email and phone sign-ups on every plan and auto-replies on Premium; Stan Creator Pro includes email.
- You want the biggest set of integrations. Linktree's app marketplace is far larger.
