Posy vs LittleLink

LittleLink is a file you edit. Posy is an app you run.

LittleLink is one static HTML page with more than 100 branded buttons. You edit it in a text editor and host it anywhere. Posy is a Next.js app with a visual editor, six looks, an API and an MCP server. Both are MIT. Pick LittleLink for the smallest possible page. Pick Posy to edit without touching HTML.

What LittleLink does well

LittleLink, by Seth Cottle, is a DIY Linktree alternative made of plain HTML and CSS. There is no build step and no database. You copy it, edit index.html and deploy to GitHub Pages, Cloudflare, Vercel, Netlify or any static host. Its README reports that the sample page scores 100 in all four PageSpeed Insights categories.

It ships more than 100 branded buttons, with more in LittleLink Extended, and a Button Builder for making your own. A static page has no server to patch and little that can break.

Where Posy is different

  • No HTML to edit

Paste a link and Posy picks the tile. Resize and reorder tiles in the editor. Nobody needs to know HTML to change the page.

  • Tiles that do more than link

A Spotify link becomes a music card with cover art, a YouTube link a video that loads on play, a GitHub repo a card with live stars.

  • Change it by asking

Connect an AI app over MCP and say "add my new video and publish". With LittleLink, you or your AI edits the HTML and redeploys.

  • Stats included

Visits, taps, referrers and country, counted without cookies.

Which should you pick?

  • Pick LittleLink

You want the lightest possible page

A static file loads fast, costs nothing to host and has no server to keep updated.

  • Pick LittleLink

    You are happy editing HTML

If a git commit is how you change things anyway, LittleLink stays out of the way.

  • Pick Posy

You want to edit without code

A visual editor, or a sentence to your AI.

  • Pick Posy

You want an API, stats or AI editing

A static page cannot take API calls or count visits. Posy is an app, so it can.

Questions

Is LittleLink free?

Yes. It is MIT licensed and you host it yourself, often for free on a static host.

Is Posy heavier to host than LittleLink?

Yes. Posy needs Node 20.9 or newer, or Docker, plus a small SQLite database. LittleLink needs only a static host. In return Posy gives you an editor, stats and an API.

Does Posy run on GitHub Pages?

No. Posy needs a server, or Vercel with Turso. Use posy.page if you would rather not run anything.

Can I bring my LittleLink buttons over?

Copy your links, not the HTML. Posy has tiles for 29 social platforms and turns each pasted link into the right one.
